Gravelly Ridge Tour
We recommend this all-day trip along the ridge of Gravelly Range. This 140 mile trail takes you along the Madison River Valley then turns into the Gravelly Range for a feast of views of wildflowers and wildlife. This beautiful trail is still wild – there are no commercial services available, so pack accordingly. To really enjoy the beauty, bring extra fuel, food, and water. Also, note that this trail doesn’t open until July 4.
Sawtelle Peak
Enjoy this breathtaking trip up to Sawtelle Peak. At over 10,000 feet, you’ll be able to see all the glory of Idaho. Enjoy the views of Yellowstone, the Tetons, Red Rock Lakes Wildlife Refuge, Madison Range, and an all-expansive view of Henry’s Lake. This trail is suitable for your car or a street legal ATV.
Henry’s Lake South Access Trail
This short 5-mile exploration takes you to the south end of beautiful Henry’s Lake. Rest at the top and enjoy a stunning backdrop of Henry’s Lake and Black Mountain. Here you are surrounded by the sights of Idaho, Montane, and Wyoming.
Short Forest Trail
Take a trip to the nearby forest and enjoy the wildflowers and animals. This trail is perfect for a peaceful walk, but you can also take your ATV to explore. This quick route is only 2 miles roundtrip.
Continental Divide ATV/4WD Trail
This beautiful trail takes you along the Continental Divide which is along the Henry’s Lake Mountain ridge.
Elk Lake Trail
Take a longer trip out to Elk Lake in Montana. Head over Red Rock Pass into Montana and enjoy the sights of the large ranges on both sides. Then pass Hell-Roaring Creek, the source of the Missouri River. Next, pass by beautiful Red Rock Creek and then enter the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge before you turn to Elk Lake. This dreamy lake is nestled between two mountains – surrounding you in stunning views. This trip is 44 miles round trip. If you want, you can plan to have lunch at the Elk Lake Lodge (12 pm – 1pm only).
Two Top Mountain Trail
Enjoy this trail that snakes along the Yellowstone Plateau on the Idaho/Wyoming border. Take the trail up a canyon and into the bowl behind Two Top Mountain. Enjoy the beaver ponds in Tygee Creek. This trail is 14 miles one-way.
Big Springs Trail
This trail is perfect for any vehicle. Drive up to Big Springs where the Henry’s Fork of Snake River starts bubbling out of the ground. Enjoy watching the large fish under the bridge – but remember, no fishing!
Bear Gulch via Railroad ATV Trail
Enjoy this long and interesting ATV trail. Start at the Bear Gulch parking lot just north of Ashton, Idaho. This trail is the old railroad tracks which have been removed. From there, enjoy 84 miles of ATV trails.
Fish Creek ATV/4WD Trail
Explore the forests in Yellowstone Plateau. Climb the ancient lava flow that came from the Yellowstone explosion.
